Rally Infomation

Rally Dates & RSVP's

Dardanup Horse and Pony Club rallies are held on the fourth Sunday of the month unless otherwise stated. An email to rsvp to each rally will be sent out in the lead up to the rally. 


If you don't receive an rsvp email please contact chiefcoachdhpc@gmail.com to get your contact email updated.


To attend a rally your rsvp MUST be received on or before the due date.

Rally Uniform

It is a condition of your membership that the club's uniform must be purchased and worn by the second rally that the member attends.


The Rally uniform consists of:

  • Beige jodhpurs
  • Royal blue or white saddle blanket (logo optional)
  • Smooth soled approved riding boot
  • PCAWA approved riding helmet
  • Green airflow long sleeve shirt or long sleeve ruby jumper or
    white long sleeved collared shirt
  • Hair needs to be tied back, off the face and if long tied up and secured at the base of the neck.
  • No jewellery

General Appearance of Horse

A happy pony is a healthy pony! Make sure that when you bring your horse or pony to a rally that they are all of the below:

  • 4 years and older. Proof of age must be provided on request by way of brand, registration certificate, or vet/dentist certificate.
  • No signs of blood, swelling or a cough
  • Hooves-4 shod or unshod, 2 front shod 2 hind unshod, 2 hind shod
    2 front unshod, no lost shoe.
    Hooves must be in good condition (ie not too long, no deep cracks)
  • Brushed and clean as possible within reason
  • Alert and willing
  • Good condition (i.e. not overweight or underweight)

General Appearance of Gear

It is important to regularly maintain your gear to ensure that it stays in good condition. We require the following at rally days:

  • PCAWA gear checking rules apply at rallies. You can find the PCAWA gear checking matrix at www.pcawa.com
  • No rotting or frayed stitching or straps
  • Clean and oiled if required
  • Correct fitting of saddlery

Cross Country Use

Back protectors are compulsory for all grades of the XC phase of eventing. This includes rallies, training days and when practicing on the XC course.

Rally Day Responsibilities

All riders are to sign in and out on rally days. The sign in/out book will be in the clubrooms on the table. It is your responsibility to sign in/out. This is a record of your attendance. 


To record a full day attendance, riders must participate in all designated ridden and horsemastership classes. Most State events require three full day rally attendances. Half days are not classified as a rally and will be noted as such.


There will be three mounted lessons and one lesson on horse mastership which is usually unmounted.

Rally Helper Duties

The club cannot function without the support of parents/ helpers. Every family is expected to help.


Help at rallies includes but is not limited to:

  • Setup of equipment for activities on the day
  • Pack Away of equipment
  • Coaching
  • Assisting Coaches
  • Gear Checking
  • Canteen
  • Cleaning
  • Cake


The compulsory rally help roster will be emailed prior to each rally. If you cannot do your allocated job as per the email you will be required to organise a replacement!
